Extraction

Extraction is the process of pulling flavor compounds from ground coffee into water. It’s what transforms coffee grounds into espresso, filter coffee, or any brewed form you love.

A well-balanced extraction brings out sweetness, acidity, and depth in harmony. Too short, and your coffee tastes sour or thin (under-extracted). Too long, and it turns bitter and harsh (over-extracted).

Extraction is influenced by grind size, water temperature, pressure, and time… every variable working like a dial that shapes the final flavor.

In short: Extraction is where the magic happens…  the moment coffee becomes more than beans and water.
